Biography

Ashlie came to CUI over 10 years ago and has served in a variety of roles across a variety of programs at the university. As a Professor in the Communication Studies department she served as faculty advisor for the student Newspaper, The Courier. She also helped a group of students begin the club, COMM-unity as part of an Organizational Communication course. After relocating to the Bay Area, Ashlie transitioned to the School of Education where she helped serve the MAED and EDD programs as a regional coordinator, dissertation editor, and program coordinator. Ashlie also spent 3 years as director, professor and advisor in CUI’s Online Bachelor’s Degree (OBD) program helping students reach their goal of a university degree.
Now, as the director of the MA Organizational Leadership program, Ashlie is able to draw on her past positions in higher education, legal secretary, COO of a medical startup company, and church volunteer work to help provide an innovative, Christ-centered and culturally-responsive program for today’s servant leaders. Ashlie brings a doctorate in Communication from Regent University where she learned from some of the best Christian scholars and practitioners in the field.
Ashlie and her husband Brian reside in Livermore, CA with their 3-year old daughter. They enjoy hiking, fishing and camping at the country’s beautiful National Parks – up next, Yellowstone!
